29-Year-Old’s Nail Art Business Hits $600K a Year

Jenny Nguyen, only 29, is making big moves in the beauty industry, charging as much as $500 for her unique nail designs. She runs JennPaintt Nail Lounge in Los Angeles, attracting both celebrities and regular customers for services ranging from manicures to eyelash extensions.

Nguyen’s specialty is nail art. She masterfully uses gel paint, polish, gemstones, and stickers to craft stunning designs like dreamy clouds or bold spring flowers, lasting about two to three weeks. Her client list includes famous names like Paris Hilton and Hailey Bieber, and her art has been featured in campaigns for global brands such as Apple, Converse, and Chanel.

In 2022, her salon earned over $600,000, and Nguyen is expecting even more growth in 2023 as her customer base widens.

She initially attended Hofstra University but left to help support her family. In 2019, Nguyen moved from New York to Los Angeles, transitioning from teaching to starting her own business, driven by her ambition and desire for independence. The lockdown period sparked her interest in nail art, largely inspired by Instagram’s creative community.
